Short is hard

Short tasks should be easy. You can do them quickly and move on to the next. Sometimes, you can even do them while taking care of a few other tasks.

This logic does not translate to writing.

Writing short stories or flash fiction is not necessarily easier than writing long pieces.

It can be hard to find the right words to communicate everything you want to say when you don't have many words to do it. It can be tough to find the right words that will meet a certain word count when you've got so much story running through your head. It's not simple painting an image that will translate to all readers without using many words.
