Every protagonist needs some kind of goal. They need to be striving toward something if they are going to find the drive to move forward and create the action that will keep your readers glued to the page.
Goals might be big or small. Might be lifelong or recent. Might involve many people or just one individual.
The important part is that you make your readers understand why this goal is important. They need to understand why this goal is worth attention, whether it be a goal they can relate to or not.
Make sure to explain why your goal matters and give it value if you expect readers to stick with you to see the result of all that effort.
