You see a lot of people offering answers about how long it really takes to write a novel.
Results may vary, of course, but there's one thing that you need to remember: completing a novel takes a lot more time than writing a novel.
If you want to complete your novel, you need to draft it, edit it (and edit it and edit it and edit it), sell it, and then promote it. You need all of that. Writing that first draft is probably the shortest part.
Don't think that you've crossed the finish line earlier than you actually do. It'll just discourage you.
Completing a novel is a long journey. Go in knowing that, and you’re more likely to enjoy every minute of it.
