Endings are important.
Even if your entire story is enthralling and charming, if the ending isn't good, chances are that’s what your readers are going to remember. Chances are that the feeling your ending gives your readers is the feeling they are going to start with when they talk about your writing.
That's a lot of pressure for one part of your story.
So, don't be surprised if you don't get it right the first time. Don't be surprised if it takes time to craft an ending that makes you and your audience happy.
Endings are hard and feel like they mean everything in the world. Take the time you need to get yours right. That might mean trying a few times, taking a break, or changing your approach after getting feedback from a few test readers.
Endings are hard because they are important. Give them the time and effort they deserve.
