You need to keep your audience in mind when you're writing a story. You need to think about who you're writing for and whether or not you're writing for them in the right way.
But don't forget that you should like your story as well.
If you don't like your story, chances are other people won't either. If you're not enjoying your words, readers probably won't either.
There's a reason you're writing for a certain story. It's because it's something that interests you. If your story doesn't interest you, there's no reason it'll interest your audience either.
Make sure the first audience that enjoys your book is you.
