Don't be the ridiculous reality denier

If you watch reality TV, you may have stumbled onto one of those shows that is supposed to help someone improve themselves.

Whether it's a chef learning why their restaurant isn't successful, an owner meeting their employees and realizing that they are doing everything wrong, or a parent realizing that there are some fundamentals that they are forgetting to teach their children, there are a wealth of these shows out there.

For the people who love drama, those episodes where the person receiving feedback refuses to accept the advice that is being given to them are some of the best. These people have excuses for everything and refuse to believe the criticism that is given to them by experts.

Very entertaining, but not anything you want to be.

Don't be that person when you are getting feedback or edits to your novels.

Not every piece of feedback or advice will be correct, but a lot of it will. Experts will have words that may be hard to hear, but that will be true about your work.

Don't be that ridiculous person on TV who ignores the most basic, logical advice. Be the person who considers advice and learns from it where they can.
