Save it all

I am not one to encourage hoarding.

I am definitely of the idea that, if something isn't being used, it doesn't need to stay in your house.

I don't feel the same about writing.

There are a lot of false starts in my documents that I don't delete.

And every now and then, I actually refer to those old texts. I actually pull something back out because it's similar to an idea I'm having now or it would work perfectly in a new piece.

Keeping only what you need is healthy, but you never know when you'll need your writing, so don't delete too quickly.
