There are some monsters that have been around for decades or even centuries.
Vampires. Werewolves. Zombies. Demons.
They have been part of stories for longer than we've been alive. And they are up for grabs for your story if you are interested.
They are also up for you to make your own.
You want zombies to be geniuses? Sure.
You want vampires to all be multi-talented singers, dancers, and actors the minute they are changed? Why not.
If literature and movies of the last years have taught us anything, it's that you can add any traits or tweak any strength associated with the monsters we all know and love. If you have a monster variant that you think would rock the literary world, make it happen. The monsters are your canvas!
