You'll never please everyone

Visit any social media platform and you'll quickly realize one thing: people can hate anything. People can get angry and criticize the simplest things. Even if you’re sure that what you’re talking about is completely innocuous, there will be someone who finds a way to complain about it.

Whether or not this is okay is a debate for another platform, but that doesn't mean that you can’t learn a writing lesson from this: You can't take criticism personally.

People need to vent. People have experiences that make them angry about the most ridiculous things. People just want to argue sometimes.

So, if you get a one-off or random complaint about what you've written, don't worry about it too much. Chances are that there will be ten compliments for that one complaint.
