There are plenty of helpful lists and articles out there to help you figure out what you need to do when you edit your writing.
You need to check for so many things when editing: consistency, plot holes, foreshadowing, formatting, overuse of a word, etc. Having something to help you make sure that you check all these items is always helpful.
The thing is, no matter how many resources you scour, you will likely be the best person to create the right list for you.
You know where your weak points are. You know whether you get distracted by a certain aspect of your writing until it's fixed. You know your first draft quirks.
Create your own checklist of what you need to verify when editing and in what order you want to do it. Then make sure to check off all those items.
