Strong language is important. And I don't mean curse words here. I mean words that are decisive.
If you're a people pleaser, overly polite, or someone who likes to collaborate on everything, you might be a victim of vague language.
If you "think" something might happen
If you use the word "should" or "might" more than "must" or "will"
If you litter your text with "maybe," "probably," or "likely"
You are suffering from weak language. (I had to remove the word likely from this last part given the subject!)
When you're inventing a story and a word, your decisions are law. You know what everyone is thinking and feeling. Any inference should be left to the reader.
Check for weak words when you're editing your writing. You'll find much stronger language and a much stronger story somewhere within you.
