We see people every day. Some stay in our lives, and some stay in our memories for just minutes.
Depending on how long these people are in their lives, you might notice different things about them.
Quick encounter on the bus? You'll remember the bright sweater, the loud voice when answering the phone, and the spread stance that didn't mind taking up three full seats.
Best friend? You might think of their kind eyes, patient ear, or nervous tic of scratching the back of their neck when they're lying.
There are things that hit us immediately about people and some things that we hold on to dearly as time passes by. Make sure to give your characters both these initial and lasting traits when describing them.
