Let your goals grow

It's important to have writing goals. They help you achieve something and keep you accountable.

It's also important to have your goals grow.

If your goal is to write 30 minutes a day for your entire life, you'll easily get stuck in a rut. If your goal is to finish the first draft of a novel, you should eventually move on to working toward the final draft of a novel. If you've set yourself a goal of creating a believable world, work on putting characters in that world next.

You can have all the goals in the world, but if they aren't progressing, neither will your craft. Have your goals grow along with your work and talent.
