There is much to say about real life. Even if you aren't a memoir writer, you might have some adventures in the past that would be great as published work.
There's one important thing to remember when writing these pieces.
They didn't just happen to you.
Most of the time, there were other people who were there. People you interacted with. People who were also touched by what happened.
When writing nonfiction, remember that your event might not be an event for you alone. Think about how it might have impacted other people and how they might have lived it. Then, write your story as honestly as you can.
