I like calm. I like routine. I like knowing what happens next and being able to plan accordingly.
All these things are pretty useless in fiction, however.
Your characters need surprises, obstacles, and chaos to force them to move. They need craziness to push them to do something different. They need outside forces to make them interesting.
No matter how much you love your routine and control, embrace the opposite in your stories. Your consistent chaos can be what has your readers coming back to you again and again.
