Bad is so easy—Creating believable, loveable characters

We all want our heroes to be loveable. And having them be good is an easy way to have them be loved.

But we have to be realistic. It's so much easier to be bad.

People make bad decisions all the time, whether they are trying to or not. They do bad things so easily, because bad things are often easy, just like bad food is so easy to eat.

You might want to make your character good to make them liked, but you need to realize that this will also make them less believable. Find somewhere to throw in a little reasonable bad. It'll take your character a long way to being real and not make them unlovable.
