NaNoWriMo Isn't Just for Writing

Whether you've participated in National Novel Writing Month a million times or just once, there always seems to be something new to learn about or from the event.

Here is something that you can consider during this July, one of the Camp NaNoWriMo months: the event isn't just for writing an original draft. It can be for other writing tasks.

In particular, you can edit an existing work instead of creating a new one. As someone who quickly loses interest in editing, the idea of having a goal and some loose accountability is enticing. Why not put my feet to the fire and see if it will help me get through the words that I've seen before and might not seem as interesting anymore.

If you don't have a fresh idea in mind or need a quick in the pants to get your editing done, it isn't too late to sign up. See if one small online pledge can be the thing that gets you to the finish line.
